Terms of Service
Last updated: 23 June 2026 · Draft pending legal review
The service
InfluxBackup, operated by milliwatt (Norway), connects to InfluxDB servers you register, exports their buckets on a schedule, and stores the backups so you can restore them. By creating an account you agree to these terms.
Your data and your responsibilities
The data we back up is yours. By registering a server you confirm you are entitled to access that InfluxDB and you authorize us to read its buckets and store copies in order to provide the service. You're responsible for keeping your credentials safe and for the lawfulness of the data you have us back up. For business use, our processing of that data is governed by a separate Data Processing Agreement.
Acceptable use
Don't use the service to break the law, to back up data you have no right to, or to attempt to access other customers' data or our infrastructure.
Availability & warranty
We work hard to keep backups running and restorable, but the service is provided "as is", without warranties. It may be unavailable for maintenance or reasons outside our control. Always keep your own primary data. A backup service complements, but doesn't replace, your own resilience.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, our liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the fees you paid in the prior 12 months. We're not liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost data you could have retained elsewhere.
Termination
You can delete your account at any time from the account page, which erases all your data. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, and will give reasonable notice where we can.
Changes & governing law
We may update these terms; we'll note the date above and, for material changes, let you know. These terms are governed by the laws of Norway, and disputes fall under the Norwegian courts.
